French Press (Press Pot) Brewer

Many coffee experts around the world consider press pots the method of choice to brew fine coffees. Coffees brewed with this method enjoy an enhanced extraction that delivers increased coffee volatiles and aromatics to the cup when compared to drip brewing.

With the drip process, water heated to between 196 and 205 degrees passes through a bed of coffee grounds for approximately 4 minutes, offering a clean, translucent cup.

Conversely, with the Press Pot method, water just off the boil is applied to the coffee grounds and allowed to steep 4 minutes while in constant contact with the grounds. The increased contact time, in conjunction with the plunger action of the brewer, allows for a deeper extraction of flavors.

Pressed coffee offers a heavier mouth feel than drip coffees since the method produces substantially more total dissolved solids to the cup than the drip method. The end result is a richer more intense coffee experience.
