The brewing time or the time water is in contact with coffee grounds determines the amount of coffee material extracted, the major component affecting flavor. Occasionally check for the proper amount of water dispensed into each machine. The first coffee in the bowl is very strong since it was the first water over the grounds. It consistently gets weaker and light in color, coffee bowls are round so the coffee will agitate itself to blend all the layers together to give the entire pot of coffee the same taste.
- Correct water contact time with coffee should deliver a pot of coffee in 3 to 4 minutes.
- Timer setting should not exceed 3 minutes.
