S&D Coffee has a rich history rooted in the simple but deep pleasure that a quality cup of coffee can bring. Just before the Great Depression, Lawrence Switzer and J. Roy Davis, Sr. started a company that provided fresh roasted coffee to local and regional grocery stores.
As their company grew, Switzer and Davis learned about buying the raw beans and the intricacies of different roasting processes. By the late 1960s S&D expanded its customer base to include restaurants, hospitals, offices and convenience stores.
Today, S&D has expanded its operation to service over 70,000 customers with four commercial roasters with a capacity to produce 100 million pounds of coffee a year. The company’s state-of-the-art tea blending facility formulates custom tea blends for customers as well. And the journey continues…
